Jivan joined Tevard in 2021 as a scientist with over 10 years of experience in neuroscience research. Jivan established and is currently leading an in vitro neurobiology platform, where Tevard’s drug candidates are screened in primary cells from different disease models.
Jivan completed his Ph.D. in Neurobiology at the Laval University and University of Toronto. During his Ph.D. he applied molecular and genetic tools to elucidate how genetic risk factors for mental disorders regulate synaptic signaling and neuronal circuit activity and influence behavior. Later he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical research. There he used human brain organoids to study neuro- and synaptic development and how those processes may be affected in patients with mental disorders. During these years Jivan co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, review articles, and invited book chapters.
